After completing his residency at St. Louis University, where he was distinguished as the administrative chief resident, Dr. William Chadwick moved to Belleville to assume a career in private practice since 1991. He is board certified in OB/GYN and has held the position of Department Chairman in OB/GYN at Memorial Hospital. He started Women’s care in 1996 as Midwest OB/GYN. Special interests include general obstetrics and gynecology, minimally invasive surgery and office based procedures. Dr. Chadwick resides in Belleville with his wife Julie and daughter Allison.
Dr. Kelsey M.D.
Dr. Sekou Kelsey enjoys a full-spectrum practice in obstetrics and gynecology, including well-woman care, gynecologic surgery, and routine as well as high-risk obstetrical services. Dr. Kelsey’s friendly bedside manner and commitment to his patients have contributed to the rapid growth of his practice since joining Women’s Care in April.
As a native of San Francisco, California, and a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Dr. Kelsey relocated to the Southern Illinois area after graduating from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Prior to settling in Belleville, Dr. Kelsey practiced for nearly four years in Sparta, Illinois.
In his free time, Dr. Kelsey enjoys college sporting events, photography, home projects, and nurturing the “kid” in him with his wife and their three children.
Dr. Merritt, M.D.
Dr. Merritt received his undergraduate education at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan, his M.D. at the College of Medicine, Howard Universtiy, Washington, D.C. and his graduate education at Wayne State University, School of Medicine.
He was in private practice in Aurora and Denver, Colorado for several years before moving to Jackson, Mississippi. He was actively involved in clinic practice at Aunt Martha's Youth Services from 2008 until 2011.

Cynthia Auld, CNP
Certified Nurse Practitioner has extensive experience in Women’s and Family Health. After working as an RN in Family Practice for 15 years, she began focusing exclusively on her love of Obstetrics at SSM St. Mary’s Health Center, St. Louis, MO. At SSM Cindy worked in Labor and delivery caring for healthy and complicated pregnant woman, as well as teaching a variety of childbirth and women’s health classes. Cindy returned to SIUE and in 1999 graduated with her Masters in Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner. Since then she has been employed as a Nurse Practitioner exclusively in the OB/GYN specialty. Her experience includes St. Louis University OB/GYN Dept., Women’s Healthcare in Sparta, IL and at present Women’s Care of Southern Illinois in Belleville. Besides her love of OB, Cindy also welcomes the opportunity to care for a variety of GYN issues including (but not limited to) Well Woman exams, adolescent health and menopause. She also enjoys mentoring nurse practitioner students when her schedule permits.
Cindy is married and has 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren. In her spare time, besides spending time with her family, she enjoys cooking, water sports, reading, traveling, and music.
Julie Abeln, CNP
Julie Abeln is a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner. Julie received her nursing degree from St. Louis University School of nursing and her master's degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
She has three years of experience as a nurse practitioner and worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse for 6 years. While working in Labor and Delivery Julie gained experience caring for healthy and complicated pregant women.
Julie has been a part of Women's Care of Southern Illinois for a year. In this year she has provided care from conception to post-partun and a variety of GYN issues including (but not limited to) Well Woman exams, adolescent health and menopause. She also enjoys mentoring nurse practitioner students when her schedule permits.
